Apply to Receive Funding for Clean Trucks and Advanced Transportation Technology

The NYC Clean Trucks Program accepts applications on a first-come, first-served basis. Businesses that move goods and commercial truck owners are invited to apply for rebate incentive funding to replace older, heavy polluting diesel trucks with new battery electric, CNG, diesel-electric hybrid, plug-in hybrid electric, and diesel trucks.

Required Application Documents

Applicants must put together a document package for each eligible truck being replaced. If you do not have an electronic copy of each document, you may photocopy, scan, or take a high-resolution photo of each document for submission. When possible, please clearly label all documents to expediate review (i.e., “Truck A_Truck registration.jpg and Truck A_Truck title.jpg”).

Truck registration (past 24 months). Trucks must have been owned by the applicant and registered within the nine-county New York Metropolitan Area (Bronx, Kings, Nassau, New York, Queens, Richmond, Rockland, Suffolk and Westchester).
Truck title showing ownership (and lien release if applicable).
Proof of truck insurance coverage (past 12 months).
Proof of service in the NYC Clean Trucks Program-approved IBZs for the prior 24 months.
Photograph of engine family name and engine serial number (located on the engine tag).
Photograph of qualifying truck gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) and vehicle identification number (VIN) (located on the VIN tag on the driver’s side door).
Vendor quote for replacement truck (dated within 60 days of application).

Note: Truck owners must certify that the truck(s) to be replaced are functional and were not intended to be taken out of service. Vehicle replacements that would have occurred through normal fleet turnover are not eligible for funding. Any vehicle to be replaced must have been operated for at least 5,000 miles annually for the previous 24 months.
